Superman's widow Dana Reeves dies.

Dana Reeve, wife of "Superman" Christopher Reeve has died of lung cancer. She survived by their 13 year old son Will and 2 step children Matthew and Alexandra. She gave up her acting career to care for her husband after he was paralyzed until his death on October 10, 2004. She announced last August that she had been diagnosed with the disease despite the fact that she was a non-smoker.

"I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. I have an excellent team of physicians and we are optimistic about my prognosis. My family and I deeply appreciate the care and concern of our friends and supporters and trust that everyone understands our need and desire for privacy during this time. I hope before too long to be sharing news of my good health and recovery. Now, more than ever, I feel Chris with me as I face this challenge.
